About Vanessa. Helping stressed, anxious, or neurodivergent women, youth, athletes, parents, and professionals navigate a complex life and move towards greater peace, contentment, and authenticity is my passion. I support my clients in managing emotions, building healthy coping skills, and creating a life that feels meaningful to them. I use a biopsychosocial approach that honours the whole person, taking into account the many factors that influence your life, while centring your experiences and challenges in our work together.

As a mother of teenage athletes, I understand firsthand the unique pressures, demands, and stress experienced by both young athletes and their parents. I am committed to meeting you where you are, helping you pause, try something different, and problem-solve in a holistic way that appreciates your strengths and normalizes your lived experiences. My approach is tailored to your individual and diverse needs, creating a warm, empathetic space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.

Professional Background. I am a clinical counsellor with a Bachelor of Arts in Child & Youth Care Counselling and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. I spent ten years working in inpatient psychiatry at BC Children’s Hospital, supporting children, youth, and their caregivers with mental health and behavioural challenges. I have also held numerous front-line therapeutic roles and now bring this extensive experience to adult-, youth-, and athlete-focused counselling.

I am trained in Lifespan Integration Therapy (Level 1 certified), a mind-body trauma treatment that gently integrates memories in the body, helping to reduce anxiety and build resilience. I also incorporate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support emotional regulation, personal growth, and self-understanding. Click here to download an info pack on Lifespan Integration Therapy.

Availability. I am available virtually on a variable schedule through the week for virtual therapy sessions. I offer a free consultation for new clients to see if it is a good fit to work together - click the "Book an Appointment" button below to find a time that works for you.
