Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) Funding

RCCs Thea, Vanessa & Adriana are approved Crime Victim Assistance Program Providers. If you have approval for counselling through CVAP, you pay out of pocket and can submit your receipts to CVAP for reimbursement. We do not offer direct billing to CVAP.

At this time, CVAP reimburses clients $135+GST/ session ($141.75).

Extended Health Benefits

The vast majority of extended benefits plans (ie. Sun Life, Blue Cross, DesJardins, Canada Life, Manulife, etc.) cover some or all costs associated with individual counselling sessions provided by an RCC or OT. If you intend to seek reimbursement for the cost of sessions under a group plan, please check with your employer or benefits plan to ensure the coverage criteria includes RCCs/ OTs.

If your plan does not cover RCCs/OTs but does cover Psychologists, Social Workers, and/or Counsellors with other designations, you can make a request to your employer through the Human Resources Department to adjust the plan to include RCC designation. Many employers are not aware that making this change is easy and can be done at no extra cost to them. Click here to download a template to help with this. Receipts are issued via email and may be needed for health plan reimbursement or as a medical expense toward your personal income tax.

ICBC Funding

If you have a recent claim with ICBC, you are eligible to seek reimbursement from ICBC for up to $147/ session for up to 12 counselling sessions within 12 weeks of the MVA with the RCC of your choice. Please check with your adjuster to confirm that coverage is available for your situation. Clients pay KAYDA Health out of pocket, are issued a receipt, and then seek reimbursement accordingly. We do not offer direct billing to ICBC.

Autism Funding Unit (AFU)

To access Occupational Therapy or Clinical Counselling through AFU, families must apply to AFU listing Althea Megas dBA KAYDA Health as the business provider. Once the funding has been approved, sessions can proceed and AFU will pay the clinic directly (clients do not pay out of pocket). However, families who choose to begin sessions prior to funding being approved need to pay out of pocket for all sessions occurring prior to approval and will not reimbursed. (The best plan is to wait for funding approval if finances are an important factor.)
