Nafiseh and her children

Hello, I'm Nafiseh

I help young people, couples, and families --- especially those from immigrant or multicultural backgrounds or feeling caught between worlds in a painful, confusing, or fearful way --- find peace, a sense of belonging, and simply rediscover themselves beneath the anxiety, expectation, and noise.

You might come to me with quiet fears like:

  • fear of not being enough

  • fear of disappointing others

  • fear of never finding peace within yourself

  • being afraid of your own emotions -- worried that sadness or anger might take over

  • fearing failure, judgement, or the idea that change might be too hard or too late.

However, we are going to look beneath those fears to find the spark of the deep motivation you carry, such as:

  • the desire to feel calm, connected, authentic, to understand yourself,

  • the desire to love without fear,

  • the desire to build a life that feels true to who you are.

This is what inspires me most -- watching you transform fears into the very force that moves you toward healing and growth.

  • Children & Parents - It may be exhausting right now, or like you are lost - unsure of how to bridge the gap between generations, but as long as there is love, I can help you reconnect in your family, build empathy and mutual understanding, increase confidence and calm for everyone, even through stress or conflict, and heal intergenerational patterns -- all of this to transform guilt or frustration into compassion and growth.

  • Couples - I can help you rebuild trust and communication, strengthen intimacy, and move from blame or distance to teamwork and mutual care so you can both learn to listen and express your needs with empathy and feel seen, valued, and supported by one another. I can help you rediscover closeness, trust, and warmth and bring this back into the relationship. If needed, I have specialized training in working with infidelity.

  • Teens & Young Adults - You may be at a crossroad in your life, believing that your emotional experience or mental health will define your future, or that your voice is being lost between the worlds you inhabit. I can help you find calm in your body and courage in your heart, even if you experiencing anxiety, panic, or self doubt. I will help you build self-trust and confidence so you can learn to make decisions that line up with who you are. We can explore emotions, even difficult ones like anger or grief, without shame. I can help you find direction and purpose so you know who you are and what you want from life.

It brings me such joy to walk with people towards a calmer, more connected, and more meaningful life. It's not the techniques we use, but that you will never feel alone in the process - I bring warmth, patience, and genuine curiosity into every session, so you can be honest, make mistakes, cry, laugh, and rediscover who you are -- all in a space that feels safe and real. I don't see therapy as a job; it's a shared journey where I walk beside you as you rediscover your strength and voice, and I have deep gratitude and humility to be with you on this path.

My Background:

The grief I experienced after losing someone deeply dear to me changed the course of my life. I lost a person who trusted me more than anyone else in the world — someone who truly saw me and paid attention to me. In that loss, I realized I needed to learn how to become that kind of presence for myself.

This quest for understanding and meaning led me to study philosophy and psychology. I wanted to explore how we can hold space for others, how we can heal, and ultimately, how we can become a source of support, trust, and care — not only for those around us, but for ourselves as well. That journey became the foundation of my path as a therapist.

In 2016 I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and began my career as a counselor and university lecturer in Iran. I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families for over 9 years. In Canada, as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I continue to support immigrant families and young people, combining my international experience with local knowledge.

In my free time, I enjoy walking along rivers and in the forest while listening to audiobooks and podcasts, playing soccer and basketball with my 2 children, watching them go boating on the lake, and skipping stones with them in the river. I also practice forest bathing and meditation, and spend time writing about my thoughts and feelings.

I have availability virtually and in person in Coquitlam and offer service in English and Farsi. Please email or click "Book An Appointment" to see current openings and book a free consult.
