Who Crina Supports.
For young adults, women, couples and families who feel lost, worthless, disconnected, hopeless, and unseen in life’s chaos, experiences of trauma, deep exhaustion, addiction & fragmented relationships, life can be so hard. Imagine though, what might happen if you could reinvent your life, feel safe, seen and supported on the journey, explore your vulnerabilities, find your way through the muddy waters WITH someone who is celebrating you and your dreams for something bigger and who can share in the heavy emotional lifting along the way, discover your faults are actually your uniqueness and your gifts, land on solutions, healthy communication, shifted perspectives, and co-created hope. These are the places I can offer guidance, support, and impact in your life.
I see you, in all the ways you exist, and I welcome all parts of who you are. I want more than anything for you to feel safe, supported and comfortable in therapy. I promise you there are solutions, and you and your life are worth it. When walking in a dark forest, I will turn on my flashlight so you can see where the road is. I cannot walk for you, but I promise to walk alongside you as long as necessary. You will have my full support, no matter your struggles. You will never be alone in this journey!
Crina's Professional Background
I have always been a counsellor in my heart. I feel like a duck in the water as a therapist – I am where I belong and where I need to be – I feel this every single session. Even as a child, people came to me for advice and comfort, and I felt it was my place in the world and that I could help just by listening, embracing, and being me. I’ve walked my own paths of immigration, infertility and miscarriage, divorce, single-parenting, and remarriage. Though I do not believe it is possible to ever fully walk in someone else’s shoes, I also believe I can relate differently because of my own lived experience, and I have a sense of the profound impact anxiety and depression can have in these cases. I will meet you with gently and compassionately, but with direct and honest kindness, and, when it’s appropriate, a good sense of humour and a laugh.
Professionally, I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with over 13 years of experience in therapeutic support through social service non-profit work. I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree and a Bachelors Degree in French and Criminology. I use a strength-based approach, emphasizing Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness, but there is no one therapy for all – we are all unique, and we will use whatever we need to use to help you, with the emphasis on finding the solution rather than marinating in the problem.
Personally, family is my everything. I have my 2 human children, a 4 legged child, and my husband as well – this is where I belong. Sometimes, I love spending time with them, and sometimes I love to spend time alone. I love singing and poetry, and music is one thing that greatly helps me detach from a heavy day.
I am available Wednesdays & Fridays in person as well as on a more variable schedule virtually. Please feel free to book in whenever suits your needs, or email to ask anything you need to.
