Therapy for Anxiety, Stress, Phobias & Panic Attacks.

Stress and anxiety can sneak up on almost anyone of any age - they impact sleep, focus, patience, and by proxy, relationships. You might notice racing thoughts, avoidance of situations that trigger panic or fear, a tight chest, or a racing heart, for example.

Stress is a normal response to life's challenges - but sometimes there are too many stressors and not enough regulation, and it becomes an issue. Anxiety is like a cousin to stress - it may or may not be situationally related, but the general symptoms mirror the experience of stress (read more about the signs & treatment of Stress & Anxiety here). Panic Attacks and Phobias are specific types of anxiety disorders (read more about panic attacks here). These conditions can all feel quite isolating, but they are more common than  you might think. For example, did you know that 1/3 people will develop anxiety disorders, most showing symptoms before age 21? Or have you heard that 2/10 people will have a panic attack in their lifetime?

At Kayda Health, our Registered Clinical Counsellors treat these conditions through evidence-based approaches such as CBT, Mindfulness, DBT, ACT, and EMDR. Therapy can help with learning to recognize and manage these conditions, helping you understand what's happening in your body, leading to calm your system, and rebuilding confidence in your ability to cope.
