Professional Care. Accessible Rates. Expert Oversight.

At Kayda Health, we believe that financial barriers should not stand in the way of high-quality mental health support. Our Intern Counselling Program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to access professional therapy at a reduced rate of $75 per session, while benefiting from the collective expertise of both a dedicated Intern and a Approved Clinical Supervisor.

Why Choose an Intern Clinical Counsellor?

Our Interns are Master’s-level students in the final stages of their clinical training. They bring fresh academic perspectives, a deep passion for the field, and a commitment to the latest evidence-based practices.

When you book with a Kayda Health Intern, you receive:

  • Accessible Pricing: Standard sessions are offered at $75, making consistent, long-term therapy more sustainable.

  • Dedicated Focus: Interns carry smaller caseloads, allowing them to dedicate significant time and energy to your specific goals.

  • Collaborative Care: Every Intern at Kayda Health is closely supervised, ensuring your treatment is reviewed by an Approved Clinical Supervisor.

Comprehensive Supervision by Thea Megas, RCC-ACS

Quality assurance is the heartbeat of our Intern program. All clinical work performed by our Interns is supervised by Thea Megas, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor (RCC-ACS).

As a Clinical Supervisor, Thea provides:

  • Regular Clinical Consultation: Ensuring that the therapeutic approach is aligned with client needs.

  • Professional Mentorship: Guiding Interns in complex cases, trauma-informed care, professional standards, and therapeutic skill building.

  • Ethical Oversight: Maintaining the highest standards of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

"Many people worry that working with an intern means they will not get 'good therapy' - but I think its so important to know that research actually shows people find new therapists much more empathetic and understanding than more experienced clinicians. I would also say interns have the benefit of being the most up to date in terms of what research is showing as helpful in therapy, because they are learning what's most current and relevant as part of their schooling. Finally, an intern therapist is the MOST supervised level of therapist - at no other time in their therapeutic career are they going to have as much of an opportunity to have strong and supportive feedback on how to best help." — Thea Megas, RCC-ACS
